I was reading about it in the Camaro Features PDF online:

"The 6-speed manual transmission (V8) includes a 1-to-4 shift feature that helps achieve the best possible fuel economy.

I wouldnt worry about it. I have it on my GTO and once or twice a year it tries to force me into 4th.mi haven't even bothered to do the skip shift delete and I've owned 2gtos for 8 years. iIRC it comes on between 13-19 mph. I just hold 1st to over 19mph.

The 1LE comes with the ZL1 shifter, so I don't think you will feel the need for a shorter throw. I have driven some aftermarket shifters that are too notchy and not really an improvement. The stock 1LE shifter has significantly shorter throws than a stock SS.

Is the shifter a SS one or something different? Noticed you cannot order a hurst from the factory.

The shifter comes from the ZL1 line up... But Maybe just the looks jist like in all the other SS cars causr I hot the 2013 Camaro booklet from.Chevy and it states the improvements on the 1LE yet it does not mention it has a short throw like the ZL1.. is says 3.91 gear ratio which someone told me has nothing to do with the physical movement of gear to gear but rather the sense of the torque on each shift..... Hopefuly it does

It's the ZL1 shifter. It has a shorter throw than the regular SS shifter. Not sure how it differs from the factory Hurst shifter. I don't plan on upgrading shifters when I get mine and I have been driving a 2002 V-6 Camaro for ten years with an aftermarket hurst shifter.

U also ordered a 1LE? When is your TPW ? And Thanks so much for clearing that for me if it has the short throw of the ZL1 I'm more than happy

I have not ordered yet. Hoping to order in March or April. I will be living through threads like these till then. Already know it's going to be a 2SS/RS with NPP but after staring at fifth gens for three years I'm still torn on color. Battling between black and Victory Red.
