The center fitting on the can is the inlet. It is a push-on style and swivels in any direction you need it to. The outer fitting(s) are the outlet valves and are threaded in. Only rotate them counter clockwise to turn them where you need. The rear of the drivers side valve cover goes to the center of the can.
