Yeah, but I can close the hood and all that green just goes away, unlike DaHose's car...

He is so much the poser, I bet you can smoke him, he probably doesn't even have a motor in that car, he just drags it around on a trailer and hides the truck before anyone else shows up...

What is the part that you cut & what does it hold?

The part I cut is one of the upper radiator support brackets that is bolted to the core support. Vararam has since revised the intake design to make this modification of the bracket no longer necessary.

Out having a bit of fun now that I've crossed over the 36k mile barrier...bye bye bumper to bumper warranty.

This was done for the V6 guys, now that I've got the final version of the Vararam air intake on the car....

Outstanding... nice looking unit too... I did some testing w/ Patrick on the v8 ones... he is a wealth of information that's for sure.

Vararam has also donated one for our Kemah Auto show...

Patrick has probably forgotten more about mechanical engineering and aerodynamics than I'll ever know. He's definitely got a brain for doing this kind of work.

I definitely appreciate Vararam's donation to the Kemah show.

Guess it is about time to close out this particular build journal...41623 miles later...

I've lost my mind and decided to trade in my 2010 1LT/RS for a new 2011 2SS/RS in Synergy Green.

I've been thinking about this for a while and finally did it before I could no longer buy a new SS in SGM.

I'm sure I'm going to miss my V6 but my concerns with the Aisin AY6 manual transmission's long term durability and relatively limited availability of good performance parts for the LLT were pretty strong driving factors in my decision. I still think the LT/RS with a manual trans is the best balanced all around option out there for daily drivers. Unfortunately, based on my track record, a V8/AT combo usually does well with my driving habits and easily keeps going for 200k miles or more if I take care of it right.

I'm glad I was able to help out in getting the Vararam V6 intake into the hands of fellow V6-ers. It truly was a fun process working with the guys at Vararam as they brought this intake to the market. Guess I'll need to pack up the couple of VR intakes that I have and see if I can make a deal with them for a V8 intake.

Dang!!! Just realized that I'm back to square one and will have to spend months researching new exhaust systems, intakes, and other bolt ons for the SS - I've completely ignored them for the past 2 years...

Off to greener pastures and I'll be back with a new build journal for the new SS...
