If he had financed the extended warranties along with his car, like most people do, cashing them out wouldn't have gotten him any spending cash. That money would have been sent to his lienholder, so it's not like he could have cashed out and bought something else while keeping the Camaro, unfortunately.

Doing the same thing Friday, just don't buy a car that you'll lose sleep over like this one. Most cars I hear rocks getting kicked up and I'm like eh. This one the only thought is 'great, another thousand to repaint the gills'. Enjoy the freedom of no longer owning a fragile car.

RIPws6 a lot of members here are former Camaro owners because of life circumstance's. When the timing is right there will be lots of camaro's to own in the future. Not being a owner you can still be a big part of this great community. Best of luck with your new job. Thrillz.

2 years ago I got myself a 99 malibu for about a 1000 bucks and it's still running strong. I save on gas, get to store my camaro in the winter and don't ever have to worry about someone dinging my car cus it's a beater. I couldn't be happier, I will always have a cheap beater on the side.

the car market must be different in canada. any 1k car around here is going to be a complete POS that will needs a couple thousand dollars in work. and decent car like a Toyota or honda that is in good working order with less than 200k miles on it will sell for 4-5 k.

Your spot on with that. There was a time you could pull that off in Canada but now its really tough. With the recycle your ride program the inventory got real small. I remember when 5k used to get you a really nice used car but even those days have seem to come to an end.

On a positive note, it sounds like you took on a role with more responsibility and more money to go with it - congrats on that part.

Yup, I have the V6, which helps somewhat. 68 miles one way for me. I trash cars with those miles I drive. 158,000 miles on the Camaro. With that said, I recall some on here while looking at the deliveries of the RP6 Camaros questioning who would get a 1LS.

How about a used V6 Camaro? Better gas mileage & still sexy & more powerful than most anything else you would likely be considering????????????????????? Just a thought. But family first.
