Ontario - May Long Weekend Cruise CANCELLED

OK all - I know there's a few of you itchin' to have another cruise/GTG since the last one local was really Kingston. Over the next week or 2 I'll start a thread with a full list of events and cruise nights for southern Ontario / GTA and include links to as much information and other resources that I can (I encourage people in other major regions to do the same and perhaps we can get the top 3-4 "stickied" in the Canada section). But for now, here's a couple upcoming events for May and we'll dedicate this thread to our next cruise.

Upcoming May Events - GTA and Southern Ontario:

(Full list to be posted soon)

GTA Long weekend Cruise:

UPDATE
CANCELLED
Sorry folks - The weather is playin' games with us here. Saturday looks like a fail, Sunday can't make up it's mind, and while Monday looks good, I am unfortunately committed to somethign else. So it looks like we're going to have to take a pass on this one.
Keep an eye on the GTA events thread for the next event

Date:
Sunday May 24th

Rain Date:
None

Start time:
9-10am

Start location:
TBD

Route:
Will be announced just prior

Destination:
Looking for suggestions here folks. Here's a few ideas with approximate one-way travel time from Brampton

Suggestions:
Tobermory or somewhere up the Bruce Peninsula - 4 hrs
Penetanguishene/Midland area - 2 hrs
Long Point Lake Erie - 2.5 hrs

I would propose that we depart sometime around 9am and plan to have lunch at the destination location. I will coordinate the route, lunch reservations etc. once we get details and numbers worked out.

I would love to do any of the above. If we get a fair number of cars and/or we're going further away I'd keep the route to the main roads keeping in mind drive quality and time in mind.

For now, Anyone interested in a cruise on the long weekend please chime in!

I think you should all cruise to Hylton's barbeque on the 22nd.
I'm sure his wife would love 30 Camaros in the driveway!

Perhaps Wasaga Beach, be a great picture of us all lined up along here http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&sourc...1,6.36,,1,6.49 Although it would probably require leaving at 3 in the morning in order to get there early enough to find the parking lot this empty.

I thought about that - but came to the same conclusion. Long weekends, Wasaga Beach and trying to find decent parking for our cars are 3 things that don't mix. There are some amazing photo ops out on the Bruce Penninsula though

Is there anything interesting west of the GTA (London area and beyond)? Sadly my knowledge of driving destination in Ontario is a bit lacking.

Farmer's fields.... that's about it. That's why I suggested these possible destinations. The drive to each and the scenery is quite nice.

But it seems that there isn't much interest around here........
