Insurance Rates

Hey Guys,

Just wondering about Canadian insurance rates. We all know that they can be outrageous for some of us. If you have already got a quote on a new 2010 Camaro it would be good to compare. Tell us your:

Model of Camaro (V6 or V8)
Age
Location
Driving Record
Quote

These things should give us a good idea on how much we are looking at for insurance.

I'm ordering a 2LT RS automatic
I'm 21
From Edmonton, Alberta
I have a clean driving record with no accidents and 1 speeding ticket in the past 3 years.
My quote from TD insurance was $200/month. Which i thought was pretty reasonable for a sports car. But it would help to see some others.

I've been trying to do online quotes but no one has the 2010 Camaro listed yet.

ya, looks like TD has some of the best prices. I have a chevy colorado right now and i pay 350$/month from them, so i was very surprised and happy when the quote for a 2-door coupe was 150 less!!

im not sure. but on that TD site they ask how many KM you drive to and from work...i wonder how much that affects the quote...because driving to and from work is the highest chance for accidents in rush hour?....i put 0KM because i have a company truck to drive to and from work...so maybe thats why mine was lower than i expected....other factors are probably what you put in for the value of the vehicle and yearly KM

i wonder what mine will be... i'm with Wawanesa, and on my silverado i pay under $700 a year. Granted this is with the girlfriend, and the house on the same policy, and i'm listed as an 'occasional' driver because i too have a company vehicle to drive during the week. I can't see it being more than $1000 for the year. I'm 24, but Wawanesa pro-rates their drivers as being a year older so i actually get 25 yr rates. I think it's like -9 on the grid...

I'm guessing what bluch said in the next post below yours ... KM's to work perhaps. I actually put in my speeding ticket from this year just to be fair to AIG.

I put down 18 KMs one way. Sucks because I leave the house at 5:45 and might pass 10 vehicles over the 18 KMs.

$1239/yr with SGI's online calculator. Don't know how much I trust it, nowhere does it ask you your age or how much you drive.

I believe it is 32K or less to work keeps you in a lower bracket but the area you live in effects it also.
