No, if you put the shifter into "M" the car goes into sport mode. When you press one of the paddle shifters it goes into manual mode, but if you don't shift it will do it for you so you don't mess anything up. If you press the "TC" button twice consecutively it goes into "Sport Stabilitrac Mode" If you press and hold the "TC" button for like 7 or 8 seconds everything turns off. That being said, I'm really glad cars have traction control because plenty of people buy these cars that shouldn't. Not saying OP is necessarily in that group, but think about it... Why would you buy a car that you purposely limit the power of because it makes you uncomfortable at full power? You should buy a lesser car and get over the ego trip of owning a car you are not confident driving.

This is why I recomend anyone who buys a performance car do a few days of autox. Your driving skills wilk improve a ton and you will have a blast doing it.

I've spent 3/4's of my life slideways in old musclecars. The key is to know (when to hit it & when to get off it), and before anybody say's it, i'm gonna beat ya to it. That's what she said.

the combination of summer tires, 3.73 gears and an eaton posi w/400# springs is interesting in the wet.

but modern traction and stability control plus AWD is damn good in bad weather to the point where I prefer it now.

I spin my tires for 20 feet with traction off. I can actually spin my tire with traction on from a 10mph roll on and I have a V6 stick.

I told this story before. I turned off everything while sitting at a traffic light. The road was wet from rain and when I made a right turn to get on the expressway entrance ramp. I gave the car to much throttle and the ass end slid right around. I was heading towards the guardrail then the ditch then the guardrail, OMG I was so glad I had enough control to not do any damage. The only thing damaged was my ego because I ended up facing the wrong way on the entrance ramp front bumper to front bumper of a Mustang GT!. I felt like a fool but the guy in the Mustang rolled down his window and asked if I needed any help. I told him everything was cool, then he said "the Camaro SS sure had a lot of power".

Funny, when I had my 440 Mopars in the 60's we had no traction control. I think it made us better drivers. Learned to handle it, and thought nothing of it. Sort of takes the fun away.
