amp and speaker recommendations
Ive decided its time to start to research upgrading all the speakers in my car. They are starting to crackle and its starting to annoy me. Right now i have the non ba system and a 12in JL sub and a mono amp. Im looking for either a 4 or 5 channel amp and new speakers. I listen to alot of house music if that makes a difference. Dont have the money for top top of the line speakers but i dont want crappy ones that are going to blow out in a few years either, I really only want to change the rear 6x9s once. looking at the diy it looks to be a real PITA.
Thanks for the help! |

If you dont go with top line, I would recommended Pioneer speakers, Radio and Amps.. I honestly do not understand why people do not like them but I think they are really good. I mean I am not in the business to spend 400+ in just a component set. however, I have always had Pioneer speakers, radio and Amps and have never have one blown.. Look in to them.. I changed my components for like 100 bucks and they sound good.. just my opinion.. and as for the installation.. ahhh its not that bad.. just take time.. follow the DIY and ull be good.. I did mine.. the only painful part is running new speaker wires to the door if u do that..

If you're looking for high quality and easy integration, I'd say you'd be wise to go with a 5-channel JL Audio amplifier. Lots of folks have gone with the XD700/5 and had great success. HD900/5 if you're looking for something even better.
I'd recommend JBL MS-62c's or Rainbow SLC's for your components. I have the MS-62c's and they're phenomenal for the money. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...ll-out-me.html This review/thread is what got me interested in the MS-62c's and I don't regret it one bit. In the past I've owned a lot of JBL products, so I went with a JBL amplifier for them (MS-A1004), but that JL Audio XD700/5 was in and out of my cart multiple times. |

You could go with something like JL XD600/1 + JL XD400/4 (~$620) or JBL MS-A1004 + MS-A5001 (~$700) but you don't save much money. |

thanks so this may be a dumb question but if the speakers has a 80 watt rms but the amp only puts out 75rms will the 5 watts make a difference?? or the opposite if the amp is putting out 90 or 100 rms per channel and the speaker only has a 75 rms
also our cars run on a 14.4 volt system right? or is it a 12.5? |

The speaker rating is typically listed as a range, for example 5 watt rms to 80 watt rms. If only a single number is listed, then that is the max recommended input.
