Help me decide : Escort 9500Ci vs 8500Ci Plus installed Detector

I am looking at getting one of these installed in my Z I am just trying to decide if the 9500 is worth the additional cost.
I would get the shifters with the 8500CI if I went that way.
I have heard the 9500 can auto silence false alarms, and it does have the rear laser diffuser, but beyond that I cant seem to find any other differences.
Is the 9500 better at detecting, radar, and shifter laser?
Is there any other functional difference between the two?
If someone has a link to a comparison test I somehow couldn't find that would be appreciated too.

The reason I decided on the 9500ix ultimately was:

1. It is GPS based and auto-locks out false alerts. It does this after you pass the same alert 3 times and it has the same frequency as well as magnitude.

2. It plugs into your 'puter and accepts updates to the red-light and speed camera database.

3. It was listed as being as near as makes no difference as the V1 in sensitivity.

If you don't do a lot of city driving then perhaps the GPS capability won't mean much to you, but I've found it already very accurate.

If you do get it, you'll enjoy the auto-brightness feature as well as the "Pure Dark" feature.

This is a possibility, but I dunno about spending another $100 over the 9500ix. Definitely have to see results.

thanks for the input,
the models I am talking about are the installed versions though, they get wired into your car (laser jammers and radar reciever on the front, with the screen, and controls inside the car) also the 8500 plus has GPS as well.

I love my 8500plus ci and Jammers. Still can lock out false alarm manually. Simple push of a button.

I have the 9500ix and its great however I odered the new Max. Before I get rid of it I plan to make my 40 mile drive to work using both to compare.
