I've never liked paddle shifting much but its a different game now. The gear shifter is even better and super quick. From city driving to the road track its a complete different transmission. Easily a daily driver too.

I had everything setup perfectly with all the right mods on the old car. In my book there was nothing left except flex fuel and the cost was crazy high so I was done and the hp was just right to put down on DRs too. On the new car 300 bucks for a flex fuel kit and ready to roll with E85 which is nice. I doubt I'll do too much as it's not really needed.

Couple of issues to work through but so many little things were addressed with this one, especially on the interior. Once you get used too all the menus and settings you find they are laid out extremely well. It's not just Tour, Sport, Track when you add 5 PTM modes, adjustable launch control and eLSD then toss in line lock and PDR it makes for a bit of a learning curve right off.

Guess I could have summed it up like Pete did...

Very cool, thanks!

I predict a 2018 ZR1 Ring Time under 7:06.

The ZR1 (?) gets more air up front and a Camaro ZLE style rear wing.

I'm guessing under 7:00. They want to beat the ACR at tracks.

Under 7:06 includes under 7:00 :-)

The Z06 was 1 second faster in the C&D Lightning laps so the ZR1 should easily surpass the ACR time. Having said that, a sub 7:00 Ring time is incredibly rare air with the possibility of being the fastest production car to ever run there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ZR1 is truly a production car. The others in the range are specially built, not true production cars.

GM is going to OWN the Ring.

W O W!!!

Yes the others always have caveats; special tires, suspension, etc.

They are definitely hanging their hat on the ring and spending a ton of $$$ on it.

I'm hoping the ZR1 goes for big power, mid to high 700s.

A cool new Corvette color being offered, "Sebring Orange". It looks like Hugger Orange" with metallic. Maybe for Camaro?

Interesting for the Vette...

I think their focus on the 'ring is an effect more than a goal.

They do a LOT of R&D up there. Running things like the Regal GS, which had only mild sporting ambitions. Never released a time for that, but they used it to help develop the Hy-Per strut on that car. I'm sure there are other examples too.

And look at reviews of just about any of their performance offerings. Seemingly regardless of the target market, the handling ability is almost universally praised. That happens because of specific intent. The Nurburgring is about the best way for an OEM to get the handling dialed in over a broad range of conditions. It just so happens that when you do that ... your cars perform quite well there. But like I said, thats more of an effect of what they're trying to accomplish than a goal unto itself. car

Not that I think its better than this colour (it isn't) but does anyone kinda miss the copper-y orange metallic that GM was putting on just about everything about 15 years ago? That looked surprisingly good on a lot of cars -which is rare for an orange.
