There is a TSB out for your issue. I had my lifters replaced a month agao for the same problem. GM has new designed lifters to fix the problem. My car only had 3,000 mile before it started ticking during cold starts. It sux but there going to have to open your enigne to replace them. Your going to be without your car for a couple of days. It will be safe to drive just get it done ASAP.

Mine does it too, but its been so hot here that it hasn't been doing it lately. I took mine to the dealership and they kept it overnight, didn't tick for them when they kept it so they're not going to replace them unless they tick. I was told I might have to wait for cooler weather. I'm shocked that they would even consider replacing them since I am supercharged.
If you have aftermarket headers with cheap gaskets, a gasket leak sounds very similar. PQ posted a video with his ticking, he thought it was lifters and ended up being a header gasket. Probably not likely if you have stock manifolds. ....I'm probably just going to have ATLPF do a LS3 conversion and forget about the dealer. |

Thats good to hear Pwrman. I hope everything is as it should be and you can enjoy your vehicle again. Mustang Killa, have you had your vehicle checked over by another dealer to see if they can hear what you are hearing? Sometimes getting a second opinion can mean the difference between getting an issue repaired and letting it sit. Could you keep us updated as well on how your issue progresses? Thank you.

Rattling under the hood
I looked at that link from Camaro84 for the TSB, but I only saw the 2010 Camaro SS on there. Are the 2011's not supposed to have this problem? Mine has since I got it, and I've taken it to 2 different dealerships, and they both couldn't replicate the noise. After I saw this forum, I called another dealership with y'alls information y'all posted and they're gonna look up the TSB and see if it might relate to my car's problem

Ok good, there's only one Chevy dealership here in Waco (just moved for Baylor) that I know of, Samuel Adams Chevrolet, and hopefully they'll be able to fix this problem for me too. Thanks a lot, this was really helpful
