I've seen people put a body-color painted cover over the mail slot - to make it look like it's been filled in.

When I google "mail slot cover" all I get are links to the functional mail slot conversion mods. So, what is this thing called?

What I'd like to do is get a plastic blacked-out mail slot cover that allows light through - like the headlight blackouts. Does anybody make these?

Well, everywhere I go they have the solid ones either painted or unpainted. I'm looking for the same thing - only clear plastic or blacked-out.

They dont make in a "Clear"...Blacked out??

SLP is the only one who makes them to the best of my knowledge, and no clear or blacked out ones exist. You may find an interest in the LED light strip that is made to fit in the mailslot.

A ghosted one that allows light through would actually be really friggin cool

Yeah thought the same thing. Would be more app to put one on mine if so. I have scanner light now and don't want to lose that. Great head turner.
