Nope, strictly off-limits.

Yoga is cool though, especially with a woman to help out.

Any dealer who is serious about it won't do one only. My dealer will only do a complete recall on both keys, or none at all. Your official choices are do the recall, or opt out completely. Any dealer who does differently is not following the recall.

I work at a gm dealer and they are not suppose to sell a camaro until the recall is done. All has to be done before customer takes delivery usually

Ignoring the Key recall

What is the difference with the new key? It still has the remote start & power lock buttons? Someone have a pic??

Found it:

No way I'm going to let them butcher my key fob!

My thoughts exactly. I have a 2014 Malibu with same key and same ignition switch location; no recall for it! Inconsistency is astounding; ignoring recall due to illogical approach on GM's part.

WTF. I might trip on my shoes laces if I don't properly tie them but Nike isn't recalling all shoes and making us go Velcro!!! GM, grow a pair and be logical about this. Do you think BMW and Audi are going to nix their FOBs?

Not giving up my switchblade. No one else drives my car. If I go up in a fireball of glory because of a key so be it.

It depends on where the fob is in the run position. On my girl friends Equinox, the fob is straight up in the run position. On our Camaro's, the fob is toward the front of the car in the run position, making it possible?????? to hit the fob on the dash side with an upward knee movement, turning the key fob/ignition to the off position. After driving my 2015 for a few weeks, I went to a locksmith and had a key put in my fob.

Sounds like your dealer has a problem. The recall just knocks the switchblade key out of your remote fob and they give you a separate key. You get to keep your remote fob!!!!!!!
