$20,000 down for a ZL1?
I'm just asking because I've never purchased a new car and I want to know if any other ZL1 owners heard this when they walked into the dealership?T

my dealer only asked for 1k and they were 900 miles away. I think requiring 20k down is absurd. i would find another dealer

That's crazy!! So they can use your money for how ever long. 1-5K would be reasonable. IMHO

Are you talking about a deposit to hold it or money down on your financing? If it's to hold it, that's ludacris. If it's money down for financing, he can't tell you how much to put down.

If its for financing, you may have to put that much down to get the bank to do the deal with you. Depending on your credit and your debt to income ratio. Your not as much of a risk to the bank if your essentially pre-paying the depreciation on the car.
