anyone done any performance stuff worthwhile to a 5.3 six speed auto chevy trucks? dont know if 8-9-or 10,s had the six speed. but my 11 does. thx

unless you are going to FI, leave it well enough alone and use the money on the Camaro.

Yeah my '10 has the six speed and with that DOD (displacement on demand) feature, there ain't much you can mess with...as stated above, leave well enough alone.

Theres a lot you can do,As I have done with all my trucks,including my current '07 VMAX.
A CAI for one,Then a cat-back exhaust such as a CORSA,a set of LT's help as well,but more importantly...get ahold of this guy here.....http://blackbearperformance.com/
Justin has tuned numerous late model GM trucks,Its unbelievable what he can do,he can really wake up the 5.3,and change the shift points of the otherwise "busy shifting" 6-spd. tranny,he'll also take out the throttle delay and torque management that hold these trucks back,way back!
He can also disable the AFM and turn off the speed limiter as well.

Another vote for Justin at Black Bear Performance. His tune did wonders for my '08 GMC 6.0!

There's a crap load you can do to those. The architecture behind the 5.3 is the exact same as the motor in your camaro. They are both LS motors.

A friend of mine does custom mail order tunes for them.

With just a tune and his own CAI I think he went 15.x in the 1/4.

I had an 07 subruan before my 10 silverado. did cat back exhaust and kandn filter. min 20hp gain. really picked it up.
plan on doing exhaust and prob CAI set up this spring.
