In your opinion, do you think GM would consider doing a Sonic ECO?

Problem is the $41k price tag, but there is a very attractive $350/month lease deal.

She went to the dealership without you because she knew what you'd say! I love our Cruze! We got the 2LT with heated leather seats, fully loaded, remote starter, all the electronic stuff we have on the Camaro and the sticker price was $21,800.00, right at her price range! I hit an end of year sale at my local dealer and got a BIG discount so I made out like a bandit! But anyway, do whatever you have to do to get her to try a test drive. Like you said, you had her along on your Camaro purchase all the way, tell her you expect her to do the same!

If she wants a Honda, I'd recommend the new Accord coupe. It has plenty of get up and go, returns good fuel economy (I drove the v6 model so the 4-cylinder obviously gets better), and it's actually very very stylish inside and out.

Ewanick said today in an interview "40 or maybe higher" referring to the Sonic. This is way better than the Cruze with the same powertrains, other than the ECO which has some sigificat enhancements for aero and other FE enablers.

Lol I love this thread, but she got the CRZ. I was more angry because she went without me and in my opinion made a unilateral decision on buying a vehicle which in MY opinion is not cool while married. When looking for cars I at least made the attempt to pretend like I cared what she said, she could have extended the courtesy to me and pretended to listen to my suggestions!! haha all in all, it's an interesting little car. I'll be looking forward to seeing how it does in the coming months. Already though, the sound system is pretty badass, and the ride is quiet and smooth. so not terrible.

Been married 30 years last Sept. Be happy she's happy. If you talked her into something else you'd be hearing about over and over and OVER for the rest of your life. Definitely the lesser of two evils.

It's a hybrid, and yet the NON hybrid Cruze can match or out perform it when it comes to gas mileage. Why pay extra for less gas mileage when you can get just as nice of a car in the Cruze?

I'm pretty sure if my wife wanted a car I would help her shop, but only offer guidance and advice, I wouldn't try to talk her into something she didn't want.

Hope she enjoys her new ride! That's what really counts.

Mrs Scrappy has a 2009 Wolfsburg Jetta, 2.0 turbo. It gets 30 to 34 on the highway. It's a quick little car. It has heated seats, moonroof, etc too. All for about 21,000 new.
