Crystal Red TintCoat and 3000 Status
Open question to the official Chevy folks monitoring the forum:
Why would you move so many people to status 3000 at the same time as releasing Crystal Red Tintcoat? Should you really have held status moves for at least a few days after releasing CRT from constraint to allow for color changes or will you be allowing these early adopters to modify their status 3000 orders to change color to CRT if they so desire? Are we stuck with our interim color choices for being enthusiastic? Thanks- |

Bruce, was your dealer able to change the color to CRT and did it drop back your status?

I asked my dealer to change yesterday. And as of yesterday he could not.

I turned the order in I will find out friday if they will accept the order. Because of the previous order they might not let me change, and i can't cancel and reorder or i will lose it all together. Either way I will know by Friday and then get back with you. I am trying not to get totally pissed off at Chevy at the moment, in hopes they honor the color change. Any Chevy folks "in the know"??? |

Pretty much what my dealer said. I guess they'd lose the allocation due to it looking like a bogus order. All I can do is sell what I have ordered, and then order the 2013 vert.Sigh.....

COME ON CHEVY, JUMP IN AND DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!!
I hear you say you listen, but honestly, from my experience, you are too busy telling us how it is gonna be to actually hear a thing. |

Hate to say it, but if the color you really wanted was known to be coming into order status soon, why didn't you wait and not order? The dealers can't be going in and changing every order on every customer whim; that would be chaos...

Maybe you can't have your cake an eat it too. You want information immediately and you want to order the car now, but then you want them to wait. You guys kill me. Cancel your order, put a new one in with what you want and wait for it. Everyone seems to want instant gratification these days. I don't know if I were Chevy or Ford or anyone else, if I would commit to anything before it was ready. If the product is good enough and a good value, people will buy it. |

Careful Happy_Dan, I put a pre-deposit on this vehicle on APRIL 16, 2011. Far from expecting instant gratification and more like demanding a little well deserved respect and consideration. Just what makes you preach worthy? You been here what, a month? |

I was told I had to take the allocation or lose the order. And there was time to change to CRT if/when it was released. But it went from 2000 to 2500 to 3000 almost instantly. I also had to remove B92 or have my order cancelled. Nice. Point is, release the new color and give people a little time to decide, then do next round of moves into production. The Day or two would have ZERO production impact. This was just not right. Period. |

It is a fantastic car. It is a great price for what we are getting. I am lucky to have people like FBodfather care even more than I do. I am constantly amazed at his patience. He is more passion for the Camaro than anyone here, offers his knowledge and patience even though he has to read the same stuff over and over and yet he sticks with us. You have every right to spend your money anywhere you want. I hope you will spend it on a Camaro and continue to support GM. That is where your vote really counts. You just sound unhappy about the way GM approaches this. Vote with your wallet. We will know it wasn't as bad as you make it sound if you stick with the best car for the dollar around. So, yes I am qualified to give my opinion even though I only recently joined this site. What are your qualifications? |

Well ordering the ZL1 is like riding on a roller coaster.
For me it started off well, was first on the list with my local dealer back in feb 2011 with a 1k deposit and a handshake that I would buy my new car at MSRP. Then come time around official allocation time when the dealers found out how many car they were getting. I think that was in what October my dealers calls back and says it's going to be 10k over MSRP. I said thank you but no thank you and had my 1k deposit refunded back to me. Another person on the forums read my story and hooked me up with a dealer that will sell me the car at MSRP. Since there out of town about a 5 to 6 hour drive I may have the car sent to a local dealer via courtesy delivery. I have a local dealer that will do it for $150. I could be one of the first to get this car but the carbon fiber hood went on constraint. So I decided to wait for the next allocation, and see what happens. I really do not have problem waiting another six weeks, I have waited Like 5 years. So yeah at times waiting for this car is like being on roller coaster, you have your highs and lows while your on this ride. But hey it's worth the wait!
