Carbon fiber "insert"

Basically this is about the only added option that I want. The car I am looking at does not have the insert and was just wondering how hard it would be to retrofit the insert. I put the word "insert" in quotes because it makes it sound like it is easy to UNinsert the old and REinsert the new.

Anyway, would it be something that the dealer could add or something I could add at a later date? And how is the insert attached???....screws...glue?

Thanks in advance!!!

retail is 4200ish and you can get them for 2500ish if you shop around and have a body shop that has some experience with it do it as it can be tricky to get off. you dont want to damage your old insert or surrounding paint. it comes off with 8 bolts under the hood then some clips under the insert. the clips are a pain to pop off you have to pull blind it may be simpler and way cheaper to find one with the insert you want

no problem best of luck in finding the car you want I went through that as well after waiting 5 months with one on order and not even getting the order accepted it took me 10 months to get my car but i have it now. I wanted the black insert they had in 2012 by the time i got my car i had to settle for a carbon insert as they didnt offer a black one in 2012 only grey. not a fan of the carbon but oh well like it better then the grey and i am not going to change it as they are expensive to buy

I waited and ordered one with the hood, nav and blk wheels. Lost 2 months but I think it will be worth it.
Remember if done after, it will never be on build sheet.
