Every pro driver in the world is stupid and an idiot then.

there is no person in the world with much seat time pushing a car to the limit that has not lost one. no way no how.
I loss control of my C4 Vettes many times and it was stupid on a few of those occasions because I knew better...The problem is with not much seat time (a drive with a very powerful new car in the rain) this idiot manages to lose it, period! I am not a pro driver, but I am sure even pro drivers will take their time getting familiar with the behavior of the car and the track and its condition before pushing the limits. When a pro driver loss control it's usually problems with the car as they tend to have a good seat of the pant sense of when they are about to lose control and recover.

Wow, what a shame!

Cosmetic for GM but at least $10,000 at a body shop. And ooooooh the insurance rates.

Ok, a few factors we're not looking at.

1. Was the driver qualified to really drive the car at high speeds?

2. Why did GM let the driver take it out on a wet course?

3. Did the driver hydro-plane? If so why did track officials let any drivers on the track if water "could" puddle.

There are to many questions, and what if's, and we don't have the answers. Accidents happen, it's to bad that it was on the ZL-1.

I just hope that Top Gear doesn't smear this and make it look like it was the machines fault and not the driver.

Probably not a good idea to drive 140 mph in the rain. Just saying . . . .
