We all do stupid things.......right?
So, just this morning....about the butt-crack o' dawn...I was driving to work and hit a patch of road that dives down about 8 feet to go under a bridge...
This little spot has a habit of forming a very large 'puddle'...and it had been raining...a LOT. So, this morning provided me an opportunity to do something really stupid. I went through a 2-foot deep "puddle" (at least) with my Cobalt. I didn't know it was that deep...probably a combination of early-morning-ness and how dark/rainy it was. It's quite a surprise to have water sliding up your roof and onto your windshield............... Luckily all that happened was I got some water in the airbox and my filter got wet. I'm cleaning it right now, in fact. Cobalt handled it like a champ, though...love this car...... Next time....notice how high up the wheel the water reaches on a Semi's front end.... |

at least it wasn't in Chris's car - we wouldn't've put it past you to do it. anybody who'll burn 180*s on the highway & go off-roading in somebody else's car can't be trusted to take care of their own car

A few months back it rained here so much half our roads were flodded - Camaro took it ok going slow - but some of those dickbags in SUV's would take the puddles at warp speed - lucky I learned to roll my windows up just in case....one stupid woman threw up a wave that went over my windshield and into my sunroof....

I did go through slow, actually. About 10mph. I couldn't go much faster with that amount of water, or the whole front end might have torn off. The car has a complete seal around each door...I didn't think about it at the time, but thank goodness for those!
