Should GMPP offer a Blower for the SS?

I read on the chally forums that Mopar was considering production of a supercharger for the Chally and I thought it would be a smart move if GMPP did the same for the SS. What are your thoughts?

F'n A right they should; especially if they don't offer a model with one, IMHO. Hopefully, they'll have both the 1900 and 2300. That would be sweet!!!

well, we know they've been testing some of the superchargers... and we also know that GMPP will be offering some goodies to go with the car.. so maybe that will happen... never know until it actually launches

I would deffinately get one. 25-30 years down the road you go to a maro get together and although there may be faster more powerfull maros there, mine is at 600+rwhp and all mods will be GMPP. I bet it would steal a good deal of attention from the rest.

+1. I'd like to go as much GM as possible. It seems like they're really raised the bar the last several years.

Yes they should come out with a s/c for it. Like silver turtle said they are already testing some and i have read in the z28 thread that there are camaros out there running with s/c on them and in there also said "a company in a Suburb of Detroit just got an order from Chevy R&D to produce 12 Z28 emblems" so maybe this will all come together after the release with a supercharger

of course it would be a good idea. and they almost 100% will. it would just suck really bad if you bought an SS, bought a supercharger, paid to have it installed, then 6 months to a year a Z28 come out with it already done.

Well, I'm getting the 3.6, so hopefully they offer a blower for it as well if they offer a blower for the SS. That would solve a lot of my reliability worries - sure, even if its less reliable, I can just take it in on warranty.

I'm not talking about the sms. It's a blower to be offered by Mopar distributors like the stage kits for the srt4. This mopar blower will be unveiled in nov. at SEMA.

It would be a phenomenal idea, but I don't understand why some of you are so certain. Did GMPP offer a supercharger in the past? I'm really rooting for it because Ford offers a kit for their GT that would make it more than a match for the Camaro. I want to stay ahead.

I think it'd be a great move. Just like Ford does with their Ford racing parts. I was at a Ford dealer getting some parts for a car I'm fixing and they had an ad for a bolt on kit, a handling pack and a forced induction kit. I think it'd be great. I'd love to get a handling upgrade for it. And if I could ever afford it, a supercharger would be great too.

And if they sell the SS for mid thirties, bolting on a supercharger would probably be cheaper than buying a Z28. But to get the performance of a factory car, like as well put together and tuned, you'd want the Z28. Especially if it sells for a price like a GT500 (with none of the infamous markup).
