Guage questions

hey guys, I just picked up an 86 Z28, the ONLY thing that is weird on the car are the guages, they seem to have a mind of their own, when idling the gas guage shows true fill, when you accellerate it moves up a quarter of an inch, the temp guage flicks itself all over if you tap on the glass, the oil pressure does the same..

any idea how to fix these?

could be a loose connection with the printed circuit board behind the cluster. try pushing against it to see if it helps. The oil gauge is supposed to move with the rpms. the fuel guage...well none of them are ever correct, Half of mine works but thats because the sending unit is half bad. The temp gauge really should be solid. i havent seen one that is all over the place unless the motor has a problem itself.
