Noob Needs Help with Battery Questions
Okay, fellas, please don't bash me this too harshly.
Question #1: Where is the actual battery located? Question #2: Where do I connect a battery tender? |

Welcome to the site!! The battery is located in the trunk. The tender can be hooked up directly to the battery or to the positive post under the hood. Whatever is convienient for you. I have mine hooked up directly to the battery.

You wont get ripped for asking this. I wondered the same thing when i got my car. I love how they put the battery in the rear though. Just fold up the trunk mat, unscrew the big plastic tie-down and removed the hard, black cover, removed the foam inflator stuff and whaa-laa. The only thing i wish chevy would have done is maybe put the battery in a little cubby type compartment like on the vettes. That would be nice.

Yes, its there for two reasons, 1 is weight distribution, 2 is it is cooler in the trunk which will increase battery life, not being exposed to engine compartment heat. Plus if you look under the hood, where could they have put it?
Many cars have the battery in the trunk now.. The Cobalt and HHR both do too..
