Exclamation Opinions on custom upgrade idea

I have a 99 with the 3.8 v6
Unfortunately there's not much aftermarket support for the 3.8 so here's my idea
There's plenty of room in the front of the engine.
When looking at cai kits on eBay they were simple tubing going to an open cone filter.
My thinking is since there's so much room up front why not do a y tube set up from the engine and have dual cai with one on each side in the front
I've looked at some custom threads for intakes on here but never seen anyone try this
Is there a such thing as it would give it too much air?
What are your thoughts?
