new Scosche kit ....anybody have this yet ?

I was getting my footwell/cupholder ambient lighting done today at a shop when the guy showed me this new kit from Scosche. It replaces your factory radio to allow a full DIN size radio/screen and it replacec the 2 AC knobs with a flat panel display ( all one piece ). The kit look great and it works with all the Camaro wiring and has the factory blue/orange lights. Here is a picture of it from the Scosche website, anyone have one installed yet ?

Don't care for it... just my .02 Apparently it's very difficult to design a dash kit for the Camaro that looks good... Maybe just a bad angle. Don't believe this kit is new though, isn't it the same one that's been out from Scosche?

There are quite a few threads over in the audio section. Don't think it's 'new' unless there has been a software upgrade.

I like the looks of the Alpine unit better, but both have caused a lot of problems. There are many posts in the audio section on the units and most of it seems to be bad news to me.

The issues that used to exist have been taken care of. At least from what I've heard from some of our local members that have it. Once I get the funds, I'll be getting this kit and a Pioneer HU.

Here's mine, not installed yet. It does not have to look bad.

Mine has been awesome so far. I really think that Scosche knocked out the problems with the second release. I haven't read about any problems with the second release kits (green dot).

Hm, I was dead set on the Alpine due to issues with the Metra and Scosche kits, but in this case Scosche may be the way to go...

do single-din head units fit the scosche or do you HAVE to use a double-din or dvd in dash?

You can use a single-din radio in the Scosche kit. They a single pocket to fit the empty space.
