Why Did You Get A Manual Trans???

After reading the ZL1 poll about whether it should be offered in auto I started thinking more about it........why not make them all automatic? I got an automatic because it's more engaging and fun for me. Why did you all with manuals go that route? I see way more auto Camaros than manuals btw.

Most of the cars I've owned are manual, even the daily drivers. It didn't take long to decide...

Rowing Through The Gears

My Camaro is purely an enthusiast type car to me. Purely a toy. And there's nothing better than rowing through six gears. Its a raw connection to the driving experience.

the only way I would have bought the automatic is if I couldn't use my left leg for some reason.

I've have owned 6 Camaro's, 2 Corvette's and they were all sticks. A sporty car needs to be a stick. I had 4 Camaro's at one time, one of each generation. Two 4 speeds, one 5 speed and one 6 speed. Need I say more.

Great question, ZenitramSS!

I like to feel the car's engine and transmission, and have control of the RPMs to apply power the way I want to the rear wheels. I love how things work, and a manual makes me more a part of the equation. Makes the center console more functional too, imho. I had an auto trans in my '00 Mercedes C230 sport and missed the ability to fully control gear selections (i.e., early shifts into 5th).

Even though modern automatics can be as fast or faster, most classic muscle was manual & that's what I want to emulate. OrangeVert will be driven for fun, and not commuting. If it were, I'd probably be getting the auto instead.

Very nice! It reminds me of a friends dad that had a similar saying.....check it out. This man loved to drive fast and he was very passionate about his Hemi 300C.

Muscle car = gotta be a manual.

don't know, how I believed it should be all my life.

My camaro was my first stick, and I am loving it actually.

just personal preference for the camaro I would own.

You get the LS3 when you get the manual.

I can choose my shift points. I like the feel of a manual.

Camaro, manual gearbox...it's just right. The way it should be.

Did I say you get the LS3?
