Is this what the 5th bow issue looks like?

Notice the rubber strip showing where the back of the top meets the trunk area.

yes, typically when you have a bent or broken 5th bow, it causes the back seal not to be flush with the back deck lid as illustrated in Lastgen5's pic.

This was one of the problem areas with some of the 2011 and 2012 convertibles...

the other area of concern on the 2011 is the water bag and drain tubes...the bag was redesigned and drains better and less problematic.

I would get GM Corporate involved for some assistance with the costs perhaps...you are probably out of warranty....but this is a now known problem with the earlier 5th gen convertibles.

The tops are repairable but you must have experienced techs working on these....otherwise it will be a hack job and will be problematic still.

Whomever works on your top, make sure they have succesfully repaired several....ask lots of questions...move on to the next shop if you don't like the answers.

This is what my top (still) looks like. It's nice and snug in the back with a little gap around the back corners. Top is tight as a drum and have never had any type of top / water / moisture issues.

I fixed my 2011 in 2012 myself. It is complicated but doable. I posted a thread on in a while ago. Search 5th bow pictures
