AS long as the Challenger is around there is no room or need for a 2 door Charger, that would be the same size, and 2 doors are generally not volume sellers anyway. Now if the Challenger got a lot smaller, then there may be a case for the Charger coupe.

Stock for Stock? Your dreaming. Doesn't matter anyway. Even if a four door car is faster. It's NOT a muscle car.

The term muscle car originated in the 60's. It refers to 2 door rear wheeled
high performance cars. To be clear, I'm not saying the SRT 8 isn't fast or anything like that.
It just doesn't fit the defintion of a muscle car.

so you would just call it a sports sedan? its still american muscle. we should have a cool name for all the sports sedans. like the g8's, charger's, and cts-v's. i think in the future people will be talking about these cars like how we are talking about the old muscle cars.

And where does Dodge promote the Charger as a muscle car? Even GM has a hard time calling the Camaro a muscle car.

well i mean i see that term as more of what enthusiast say. like how the people who make gt-r's dont call the vdc button the launch control button.

I never said they did. It's being called a muscle car by everyone else it seems. Look, I'm old school when it comes to sacred names. If you don't agree with my opinion that the Charger name should not be used then so be it. It's just my opinion and that's it. People want to bash my opinion, have at it.

Dodge labels the Challenger as a muscle car and the Charger as a performance sedan.

I think they could have gotten away with calling the 4 door charger a Coronet since they revived the super bee moniker.but YES I am a bit of a purist since my first care was a mopar and I'd rather have had my uncle Dom Newcombe's 1970 Plymouth Cuda which i'm not sure if he still has but just FYI he played for the Brookyln Dodgers in the 1950's.he was a pitcher.
