How dark can you go up front and still see?
I was thinking going 35 all they way around., thoughts, comments??

I really want it to look even. I know the law in IL says no but I see a lot of cars with tint, so I am going to take my chances.

I'd like to go a little darker than legal on the sides. But I don't think the windshield would ever be worth it. Thoughts?

Check your local laws because if you get tagged it can be very expensive. Every State has different laws. In Hawai'i they can tag you for every window that has illegal tint, including the small vent windows or in the case of the Camaro the small rear passenger windows. Plus you have to show that the illegal tint has been removed or replaced with legal tint. I always got ceramic tint, a little more expensive but looks darker than pigmented and not shiny like metal tints. Ceramic and metal tints will not turn "blue" like pigmented tint over time. I plan to call my tinter as soon as the Camaro gets in and have it tinted before I get it home.

Those asking about the tint...don't recall his name. I'll find it out. But, he's at 1604/stone oak by the car wash spa. That price DOES NOT include removal of the old stuff that's on cars already. There's another $45 or $50 removal fee for that. But, That was the price for my 4th Gen. Should be the same for the 5th Gen....two sides and back. ASL line will be extra...but not by much, I'm sure.

yeah i know about the tint laws, but it won't stop me. my truck had limo on all 5, then i got pulled over for speeding, and he tagged a tint ticket on top of it. then 8 days later, a different cop, same area pulled me over just for tint and made me rip it off or i get another ticket. good stuff....

seriously though, i've seen cheap tint jobs, you will see lines on the rear window, and/or the tint will fade to a purplish color. pay the extra $$. under 200 is what i've paid before.

i can't really see out the back of my 4th Gen...just a couple little specs of light from headlights. you get used to it really quickly. and learn to use your side mirrors. then again, when you are blowing by everything, you don't need mirrors! hehehehe...OK. i'm kidding...jeez.

I only paid $40 to have both front windows done on the Avalanche. Last qoute I got for a 2 door car was $150. My two other cars I did myself.
