The videos aren't really fair. The LS3 that you have there you are hearing from 20 feet away and the second link you have there isn't the LS3 6.2 it is the 7.0 liter Z06.

And it is all muffler driven too. The LS3 sounds really REALLY mean once you let it breathe

I actually liked all 3 reasonably the same, but in all fairness the ls3 was cammed or turbo'd, the mustang was supercharged, and you pretty much left us with the mellow stock sound for your mopars...so I don't think it was fair for you lol.

I voted for the 'stang v8.

Really though, Mustang v8's have ALWAYS had a VERY distinct sound, and I just happen to love it.

That doesn't mean I would take it over an LS3, but I do love the sound.

honestly I thought the hemi sounded the best. it had a deeper throatier exhaust than the ls3 and the 5.4 had way too much supercharger whine.

(sorry Just couldn't let that slide by)

Find a couple of each one, bone stock then lets retake this little quiz. And make sure that its an LS3 not an LS7. Or throw it in and add the 4.6 from the Mustang GT and the 5.7l Hemi.

Of what I heard, the first one seemed to capture the sound of the car the best.

Find the video of the Camaro concept revving. I liked the LS2 sound over the mopar. The mustang's exhaust sounds very nice too though.

Of the videos, I liked the sound of unrefined power that the lingenfelter z06 had.

Yeah, the 5.4 didn't exactly get good videos, but if you find one that actually captures the exhaust itself rather than the s/c whine, its REALLY nice.

The hemi probably sounded good because it had magnaflows on it

Look a vid up of an ls3 vette with exhaust mods, and compare it to that video, then we will see what sounds nicer.

I don't think these were good examples. I could barely hear the mustangs exhaust because of the S/C whine, and the corvette with the ls3's exhaust was facing away from the camera. What about the eshaust note on the interior lighting video for the Camaro? Was that the real exhaust note?

Thumbs down

Listening to a recording on the web is useless, not until you hear the real thing can you form a true opinion....Even if each was recorded with the same equipment and everyone listens to them with the same sound setup on their computers then they still all sound different to each person than the real car will...

knowing how each of those engines sounds without even listening to or watching a video, I can honestly say that I love the LS3 the best.

the 5.4L and 4.6L engines just have an odd rumble to them that most think of as muscular but I think of as unhealthy... it just doesn't sound right to me... there's something about it that just seems... wrong.

the 6.1L HEMI engines sounds super mean... I love their sound sooooo much more than I did the LS1/6 generation engines... maybe even a bit more than I loved the LS2s...

but the LS3 Vettes just sound mean... they're deep, throaty, have a killer WOT snarl and just make me go "damn!" when they roll by... or roar by, as the case may be if you're sitting still at the trach watching one... GM does ALOT of testing to make sure that their engines have the right sound... and that really shows, IMO... if you've ever had a C6 pass you by at 100+mph in 4th gear, you'll know what I'm talking about.
