Introduction? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I guess this is the place to do this. I'm getting married today...and just wanted to tell someone haha. With as many people that are on this forum, I doubt there's any point to making an introduction, but I will anyway!

I bought my Camaro SS2/RS exactly 2 months ago yesterday. I had been torn between the SRT8 Challenger and waiting for the 5.0 Mustang (I hate Mustangs). I was driving a Mazdaspeed 6 (turbo AWD world "oh hai") and wanted to get out of the small block forced induction world, and into something with massive power out of the box. MY chick (wife in a few hours) said, "You should give the Camaro a fair chance and at least go test drive it". I was skeptical, I thought the Camaro was just another hype and would end up as trite as the Mustang. Well, I found one online while I was at work the night before going to the dealership and found a black on black. Keep in mind I had no idea what SS2 SS1 or RS were haha. Went to the dealership and drove it at 0900 first thing in the morning. All the gauges, halo lights, hood scoops, "SS" badging drew me in, but driving it was the game changer. Driving the Camaro was a different experience from any other car I had been in. It felt so weird because the styling was so obscure, not to mention that the car really handled great for being a RWD monster. Long story not as long, I fell in love and walked out with it that day with no regrets. I told my soon to be wife that I HAD TO buy it because with our wedding on the horizon, I needed to buy it now before any kids started popping out of her, or I'd be stuck in the Mazda forever.

I'm taking this car a lot slower, but someday my Camaro is going to be awesomely fast. I enjoy doing all the work under the hood myself, even with the great shop I'm rumored to have in town making twin turbo chargers and 500+ HP with 5 psi superchargers...we'll see how far I can take it myself before I go to any shop. Doing everything myself is much more gratifying than the easy way out! Though I'm extremely jealous of all the power!

Here's a snap of my Mazda engine bay that made 343 AWHP and 352 AWTQ (stock crank HP was rated at ~276) the last time I took it to the dyno. I can't wait to make my Camaro "mine". I've already been hooked up with some awesome Camaro owners through this site, and haven't even met them yet!

congrats on the wedding. I'm glad you chose this weekend and not one of the next two because you know we have things goin on here in alb. on may 2 and may 8. have a good wedding and hope to see ya at dos hermonos, and the track.

Congratulations and what a way to start your wedded life.A great car and a great woman.You can't ask for more than that.Oh and don't worry.I got married while owning a 56 Chevy 2 dr .belair.memories forever.Also shortly after I drove my two kids around in a 70- Mach 1 mustang.They loved it.Building memories for sure.

Congrats brother! Anybody who talks more about his Car then his bride (and wife to be in a matter of hours) has a serious Camaro addiction.

I think I might have just found somebody who moves em more than I do!
