ZL1 vs Ford Flex?

Got a chance to line our 2011 Ford Flex up against a BRAND NEW ZL1! This is the first one I've run against. The ZL1 only had about 250 miles on it (or so I heard). He still had the paper plate in the back window (but had a metal plate too)

Just had to share...

I think a 12.51 @ 115 mph - DA corrected 12.3 @ 117 mph is a decent time for some average Joe.

Thats with a real slow 2.1 sec 60' (you can hear the wheel spin going down the track at the beginning of the race).

I'm going to need to start filming the 392s at our track. Boy I could add some serious fuel to the SS (not ZL1) vs 392 agruement.

Tires are the big deal here. Both are heavy cars and will do their best to separate the Owners from the Drivers. Shouldn't really be a contest, (ZL1, 392) but big power and questionable traction are the biggest factor here. Sorry for the hijack, I'd like a Silver Flex by the way!

I bet was too! LOL!

Thanks!!!

I actually took the top spot for the fastest Flex yesterday with my best run. I ran a 12.89 @ 108! As pointed out the is with a 1400' DA. we should see 0 or negative DAs in the next month or two.

So you pay $30,000 more for a car that's only half a second faster then an SS and a few tenths more then a normal 5.0 ?

I think you are paying more for helium then you realize when buying it.

I going to say the ZL1 is designed for being more than a straight line car...
