I am going to guess this being a LS, it hit the speed limiter at 118 MPH. Try pulling in 3rd gear. I know we can pull to 116 - 118 in 3rd. A few others have run into this problem too.

Hey 73vette...your car looks great!

I think I will hold off on adding this to the first post since it really wasn't an accurate run. That said, your torque looks good, but I would have expected your HP to be in the 260 - 270 range if they'd have ran it all the way to redline.

If you get a tune which removes the limiter you can run in 4th gear...otherwise you'll need to use 3rd.

Could you explain what a "limiter" is?

I have a 1LT with trifecta tune... is my limiter removed?

Probably. LS and 1lt cars are limited to 118 mph

Trifecta removes the limiter. I have tested mine out (I don't have a tune), and I am limited to 118mph.. The 3 series BMW is not.. :(

I called about the dyno, and was given the excuse that it is hard for them to make sure the dyno is in the right gear with a 6 speed automatic, and that 4th gear was best anyways. If I want a correct dyno I can pay for another.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't need to be added since its not accurate, but I hope others can learn from my example.

Use the paddle shifters and run it thru the gears holding it in 3rd or 4th as necessary.

if you have the 19 or 20's on the v6 your not limited to 118 mph. only the LS and the LT's that are non RS and have 18's are limited, cause that's what the tires are limited to. the v6's with the 19's and 20's have it limited to like 145 or something, cause that's what the pzero tires are limited to.

Well, that is not entirely true. It depends what your car came with from the factory. I DO have the RS 20" wheels with Pirelli's. it depends what your BCM is programmed to let you do.

I'm surprised by the amount of confusion on this.

LS and 1LT without RS has a 118mph limit. 2LT or any V6 with the RS package is limited to 155. As others have said it depends on what tires your car came with from the factory. If the car had factory 19" or 20" rims the limiter is 155.
