Hmm that's a weird one...have you looked at the flaps? Maybe they seized up/corroded since they never moved? Just guessing here, but I would look for a mechanical failure first.
Newb that sucks about work :( I was really looking forward to seeing your mods

The flaps are open at idle on the Camaro. You should hear a difference when driven.

Ozzy, I make come our for a few minutes. Since my car just got caught in the rain anyway, I don't have to worry about that.

I thought it was 3k, but yeah that's the idea. Certain rpm and idle will open the flaps

The camaro NPP doesn't work like the vette.

In the vette it's quiet until you rev it past some number of rpm's.

In the camaro, the active exhaust is loud on startup then quiets down for neighborhood driving the opens up under throttle like the vette.

At like 3k rpm with Exhaust Commander you can hear the difference when pushing the button. But it's subtle.

The biggest effect is the backfiring on deceleration.

I'm surprised they've stripped this down even further.

Thought the 1LE "last year" was a track car, I like the fact in the 2SS you have the heated seats, my link, etc. I mean, many a German car are pimped out in luxry style, and I'm glad the 1LE has some of that hold the plastic interior. I won't go back two months. ;-)

The bigger issue is that Chevy has a product proliferation problem and, IMHO, needs to do some product pruning. Unless I'm forgetting a model the Camaro has:

LT
SS w/1LE option (but let's call that two):
1LE
ZL1
Z28

Dropping the ZL1 seems natural. I'm confused what to do with the SS vs. the 1LE.

Ok. I found the real answer:

Quote:
The 2014 is dedicated to the “Z/28” purist. This is a track car that makes no excuses. That this car is a full three seconds faster on a track than the mighty ZL1 speaks volumes to its intent. Make no mistake – this isn’t a slap at the mightly ZL1. Far from it. If you want a car that blows other cars off a road course on Saturday and Sunday – and yet will get you to the office in comfort on Monday morning – the ZL1 is the car for you. If you want blistering track performance at a reasonable cost – the 1LE is prescribed. And – if you want to shame exotics on a road course – with an automobile that’s not meant for daily driving, then the Z/28 makes no apologies and may grab you by the collar – shake you silly -- and shout “LET’S GO MAKE HISTORY!”
