People keep saying all you have to do is pull up really hard to remove the shift knob. Something about the knob being press fitted. I haven't tried it myself since I haven't found any 8-ball type knobs for the 2010 Camaro that fit the stock shifter.

Our solstice; can't change it out. The Jeep though- just pull up really, and I mean really hard. It wouldn't surprise me if the camaro's the same way. I'll try it out this week.

Make sure you put your face directly over the knob, then pull with all you've got!

For 2010-12

So I was reefing like a mutherf#%^er trying to remove my old shifter knob
And saw on almost every forum and instructional video that everyone kept pulling up on it (insert pun here) , with some literally giving themselves black eyes.

Well after an hour of cursing, I lifted up the boot and I took a pair of pliers and gripped directly across the metal stick just below the knob (literally level and touching bottom of knob). Then firmly lifted up one side of the pliers about 45 degrees and the knob slowly glided up and off the stick.

There you go! Much easier than a punch in the face or kick in the balls for that matter wasting all that time pulling on it lol :p

grumble grumble

My 2013 had a carefully hidden set screw! I pulled and tugged and used needle nose pliers and then vice-grips and a whole lotta cussin'.....then i found the set screw...took it out and it just about jumped off the stick!!!
Ahh welll....

Good for you...but your telling me this does not help me any....had I seen it THEN, it would have helped, but every thing I read and saw did not say anything 'bout a set screw. Thank you for doing a DIY on it.
