lmao! I really get frustrated on some of my videos when seriously like 50 people before them ask how much something cost to do, and I answered all of them. Not to mention when it's in the description too!

I agree. It's not like I get paid to make those videos nor do I have gobs of time just laying around to answer the same questions over and over again. Plus, It takes days to upload some of the longer ones to You Tube. Most of the time, I just tell them to go watch the videos again. That seems mean but I can only show them the door. It is up to them to walk through it.

I think in your case it may that people don't have the long enough attention span to listen for 45 minutes

I barely have enough of an attention span to... wait what? What are we talking about again?

You do have a valid point but if I made those quick videos with the porn music and cute graphics, my videos would be just like all the other detailing videos on You Tube. But there's one advantage that I have over a lot of folks. I can hold their attention for the duration of the video, and I don't have to use scantly clad women!

Junkman,

Sorry for taking so long to respond, I've been pretty busy and the forum didn't email me that there any posts were made to this thread.

I'll answer your question about if I'm the Mike from the forum you mentioned first. No, that's not me.

As for the PTG response, I described a cheaper version of it because most people won't spend 1500.00 and up to check their paint once or twice. Also I didn't believe the shop he described would have a quality one either. Not with the voodoo they were spewing. I imagined they had a cheap one so they could advertise that they are better than someone else because they "ultrasonically" measure paint.

Now to respond about claying. I believe using clay or a similar product is essential before polishing paint because it removes embedded and most surface contaminants and by doing so it smooths the surface but it is actually scouring the paint to do this so it would only "add shine" because it removes something that interferes with the refraction of light.

I am new to this forum so as I stated I'm sorry if I hijacked this thread. I was just trying to offer a little insight to what they were saying rather than saying "If a shop said things like that to me I wouldn't let them polish my Big Wheel"

Best Regards,
Mike

Ht-421 Midnight Express
"blended with polymers, ULTRA FINE ABRASIVES and gloss intensifying additives"

"ultra fine abrasives" would put this into the 'polish' catagory, no?

You won't find any places that sell everything you need in one local brick and mortar store. It doesn't make sense financially as this is a very niche market.

Everything you need can be found online, and since you live in Tampa Bay, if you order from autopia, it will reach you in one shipping day. They are based in South Florida.

In fact, you will save money. I'm sure you can find someone or some store selling a PC 7424xp but the thing is you will end up paying more than you would have from autopia, simply because autopia sells them to a huge audience (compared to a brick and mortar store) and can afford to buy more, which eventually leads to cheaper prices for the customer.

You also said you want to get the best you can get. Most highly regarded products work. Lots of them rise above and work excellently. Find one that you like, learn to use it extremely well, and stick to it. There is no one "best" product. And there will never be.

Hope this helps

P.S. Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but please try to use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. It really helps people understand what you are trying to say, and thus, better help out

Thanks for the help. Just after watching junk and videos I can't get started soon enough. Also who did your Lamborghini doors. Love to get that done just not sure who I trust to do it. One last question. You say you drive #198. How do you find it. I found my cars birth date and know the vin and such but how do I find out what number my 45th was. Thanks everyone again for all the help.
P.s. ihaveacamaro. My wife is a hygienist. Good luck in your studies.

Oh I know that feeling, it's like an itch that can't be stopped until you detail your car!

Actually got it done in Tampa! Soundwaves of Tampa Inc did it and I very HIGHLY recommend them. Very professional and courteous. It cost $700 for the installation and it was worth it.

Unfortunately, I don't know how you would search that. I know mine because I was a 2010 model year. In 2010 all you had to do was take the 6th digit from last and subtract 1. Then the last 6 digits had the number Camaro you have. My last six digits are 000198.

In your case, your VIN is mixed with a bunch of different cars, so I'm not sure if it is possible to find, sorry :(

Thanks! I actually have my first Dental School interview this November 7th. I'm so nervous, but I really hope I get accepted!

The cheapest place that I have found the PC by itself is Tools-Plus.com. Most of the stuff that I use in my videos can be found at Autogeek.net. You can find Midnight Express at this site. My plush towels are from Zaino and my waffle weave towels are from Microfiberhome. So no, you can't get everything in one place but once you buy this stuff, it will be quite awhile before you need to replace it.
