If the Z/28 had the same power or pickup on the straightaway I bet the Camaro Z/28 would do just as good!

Brakes, suspension and tires (and $8K) better be worth more than a second.

BTW, the time differential between the best '15 Z07 lap (so far) and the best Z/28 lap is approx. 5 seconds @ Milford.

I thought the suspension was the same regardless of Z06 or Z06/7

We also have to remember the Z/28 did the ring in 7:37 an GM says they think 7:31 is possible on a dry track. The C6 ZR1 did it in 7:22. GM says the C7 Z06 (with Z07 package) is faster than the ZR1. That means the Z06 would have to be at least 9 seconds slower than the Z07 to be the same as a Z/28.

And the Z06 can then do the same thing and be faster still. It's either stock vs stock or mod vs mod.

Aerodynamics would favor the Corvette by a huge margin. Equal HP would not make them equal by any means.

It should be a little faster, but I think it is very beautiful appearance, before I just like the red car, now found black one is very pretty .

I think the tuning is a little different on the Z07. Believe I read it in the Motor Trend article.

I think if I was driving the new Z06 with the full aero and brakes and all the perf goodies that Randy Pobst would still beat me driving a Yugo because 99% of us just dont have the skill to push these cars anywhere close to the limits so at the end of the day when we show up to the track it is still, in most cases, going to be a drivers race bedause we don't do this for a living and we are nowhere as good as we think we are.

Now having said that I'd love to see a slightly modded, say 600+hp Z/28 take on some of the other top dogs in a race. Just for fun of course.

I was looking at it from a dollar vs. dollar point of view. Because the Z28 is $20-25k less you could add $20k of performance and weight saving mods and be at the same price as a stock C7 Z06 and probably just a quick around the track.

Yes, but I think I could make the Z faster than a stock Z06 with $20-25k worth of mods.(not by much though)

Not sure why we are hearing, "add this, add that."
C7 ZO6 is faster. Period.

There are cars faster than the ZO6 as well. Period.

Someone is always faster, stronger and lighter than YOU.

No biggie.

Yes, especially on the Lutzring. But, it is much less than 5 seconds.
