No I have seen using a bolt and socket method for installation and removal on the show wheeler dealers. Idk if you have seen it cuz its on velocity channel. I was thinking about using that method for some pfadt diff bushings

The Pfadt tool is only $30 new and it's not commercial grade. It does a great job and is definitely worth it for the trouble you save, but those OE bushings are in there!

By the time mine was done pulling 2 out, I wouldn't trust it to pull 2 more!

IMO the best idea is to just get a new one.

Maybe you could build one from some heavy pipe and a bolt and washer combo. Thats was what I was planning to do next month so if you do it and it works let me know.

I'm thinking 316 stainless steel for the plate, heat treated all thread, and 4130 for the hammer part. That way when the hammer goes bad all you have to do is replace that part and the rest will last forever.

Prolly put a Teflon sleeve inside the hammer too and heat it up to stick then it won't damage the threads

The Pfadt tool is $30 and if you buy it with the arms you get free shipping!

Kind regards,

a little rigid conduit, some threaded rod a few nuts and you have the pfadt tool.

make your own tool for about $8 at the hardware store, add some heat and the bushings come out easy.

Or get a 3 piece 2 jaw puller set for $20 and have more tools that are useful for many things forever. Took 5 minutes.
