Need to get into my locked 4th gen. :readthethread:
Alright, so I took a family trip to Disney World in the summer amd lost all my keys. This including my car keys. I had a spare set that I gave to my father, and guess what, he lost those as well. Now, I cant get into my car and I have the funds to fix it up and need to get in. Does anyone know if I can use a slim jim to get in, the main thing I need to get is the title so I can get new ignition keys made. The title is in the glove compartment which is also locked. So I also need to find out how to get into that aswell, since I don't have the door keys to open it. I do own this car, you can see pictures of me in it, I just really want to get it back on the road. Please respond if you have any ideas or thoughts. Thanks- Joshua.

I'd call the police and see if they'd help you get in it.

When I was locked out of my 4th gen while letting it warm up...the police officer had me sign a waiver and then he proceeded to f... up my tint. I told him to stop and I went to call a locksmith. On my return he had moved over to the passenger side and tore up the tint there as well. Thank you very much!!! I would call a locksmith for a lockout. If you know the local Chevy dealer in town, they may make you a key off the VIN from the windscreen area. Good luck!!!

I could get in my 4th gen faster with a slimjim than my keys.
If you have one, put a slight bend in it to make it shaped kind of like a bow. Now insert the slimjim right above the door lock with the bow edge facing away from you Like this to the car window (l not like this )l. Then press straight down. It will ususally catch it on the first try. If not just slide it up and down a few times and it will catch. Easy cheesy lemon cake. |

Here's an easier way- Go to the local GM dealer with your registration and ID, and have them cut you 2 new keys. Problem solved.

3rd and 4th gens are the easiest cars in the world to get into. Just pull the window away from the T-top and slide your arm in and unlock it.

ive seen it done before with a ford probe but not my car. lol ive been locked out my car before. i had to wait for some one to bring a spare key. i can't get locked out no more because it cant lock from the inside. the passenger side is fine, but the driver side i could only lock it from the outside

Maybe YOU can't do it but give me 2 min with your car. I've done it to mine and others.

Hope you know a good plastic surgeon- If you go snatching on the windows of mine, you'll need it. Trust me, if something can be done to one of these cars, I'll guarantee YOU that I can do it. |
