Tested the stabilitrak today

Wife and I were out Xmas shopping in the rain, she is easily frightened when I gun it, wet or dry so I decided to have a little fun, knowing that traction control and stabilitrak were both on, I took a right turn and gave it some gas, got sideways for about 1/2 a sec and I immediately felt the brakes kick in and the car straightened, VERY impressive

Way to go GM, way to go

Good to know

Since it's winter here in NY and my Camaro is my dd, I will soon encounter icy and snowy roads

Try hitting a giant puddle at 50mph. I got sideways and thankfully the electronics got me straight, and fast.

Only wet roads here in Florida, so lightin up my tires is pretty much a given every time I take off, but the traction control off and sports mode is pretty much my thrill ride a couple of times a week.

I am pretty sure that the FDA needs to give Chevy a rockin high five...after all Chevy found the cure for depression.

It's bringing it back around straight after going completely sideways with the electronics OFF that's the fun (and scary) part!

Made that mistake ONCE. 48 degrees F + ice cold OEM Pirellis = possible wreck.

I wish the car did not come with it. I turn everything off before driving.

What's REALLY scary is when the stabilitrak can't even help you..... I was driving to a friends house a few months back and took the turn onto her street (possibly a bit faster than I really should have, but nothing totally stupid) only to find they had just dropped a layer (or 2, or 3, or 12......) of rock on top of the asphalt. I felt the back end start to go and my heart went with it. Thankfully it was a wide enough street and no one was parked along the sides and I was able to straighten 'er out. Poor stabilitrak, never had a chance against all those tiny rocks......

Other than that it's always worked beautifully for me. Just have to remember not to rely on it too much. Don't want to start driving more recklessly assuming it will save my butt only to take it a step too far.

I personally don't like the feeling when it decideds to kick on. If the car starts to get a little sideways and ur already correcting for it when it decideds to activate the brakes and get you straight on it's own the ride is quite jerky.
