My New 2002 SS "Work Car" - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I just picked up my 2nd 4th gen.

The first was a 2002 Z with 55,000 miles on it. (It's the one in the background.)

I drive it all the time when the weather is decent, and it now has 241,4XX miles on it. It still runs great, and every little thing works as it should. I just took it on a couple of long roadtrips, and it still gets 27 mpg on the interstate, and 23-25 on short trips.

The "new" one is a 2002 SS, with nearly the same equipment, (hardtop which I prefer over t-tops anyway.) Only 18,100 miles, and it got 27.9 mpg on the trip home from the twin cities.

I took the wheels & tires off of the old car, along with several other little things I had added, and moved them over to the SS. Installed the same Flowmaster exhaust, and I have the stripe for the new one too.

The old one is still a very nice car, and I'm not afraid to drive it anywhere.
It's just amazing that it held up as well as it has, because I sure haven't babied it.

Thanks everyone. Not that I'm stuck on pewter. It just so happens that the ones I found were that color.

I had a local vinyl graphics guy make the stripe for me. I told him what I had in mind, and really like the way it turned out.
I have it for the "new" car, but haven't gotten it put on yet.

Yeah, it's our "toy shop!" Built it 2 years ago, and enjoy every minute spent out there.
If you're wondering about the size, I sell large ag equipment, and have to get one of them inside every once in a while.
