Heater Core out at 14k
anyone ever heard of a Heater Core going out at 14,000 miles on a SS. Mine went out today nearly choked me to death, soaked my carpet like they all do when they go out. I did make it to the Dealer without it over heating when it happened. but was about to puke by the time I got there from the smell and burning eyes. My car is under full warranty but I think they will have to replace the carpet I know they will try to not have to but that smell with never leave I know it.....

Too bad. I hear thats a big job. Push the health aspect re replacing the carpets. As far
as I know coolant/anti-freeze is toxic, unless the formula has been recently changed.

Search this forum. It's a known issue with the Gen5 cars.
I would not accept the car back unless the carpet AND the padding underneath are replaced during the repair. |

ethylene glycol that used to poison animals is no longer toxic to animals in the formulation made now.

I had the joy of pulling a tube off and getting nice GM coolant all in my eyes and face.
Definitely smells like crap and makes you cry. Tell us what happens OP |
