How loud are your lifters?

So before I did my headers/exhaust I could hear them like ticking. Or something ticking in all Rpms that gets slower or faster with Rpms.
Now that I did my headers I can hear them more. The post below me got me a little nervous. It's at all Rpms to include idle. Always there from cold start to warm. I don't have any power loss or any issues either. I think I'm just being paranoid.
So how do they (I'm assuming lifters) sound for you guys (with windows up you can hear better).
Just want to make sure I'm good before I put on the intake and tune it.

Headers make a ticking sound and so do injectors. You're likely experiencing this rather than bad lifters.

totally agree, Direct injection is very noisy compared to other types.

When you installed the headers did you leave the engine cover off? I know I would to show off the engine with some gorgeous stainless long tubes. If so this might be a reason why you hear the direct injection more. Also like the post above the headers heating and cooling will make ticking sounds not head before.

My car had a bad ticking noise but not at idle and only after it was warm, also there was significant throttle loss. They did say the lifters were part of the problem but my car is completely stock still so i think as long as your car is running great no need to worry.

Could also be an exhaust leak. That can sound like ticking sometimes.

Very good point! And with the new headers, that is a distinct possibility. Our 2006 Titan was always having exhaust manifolds crack, and the ticking sounded a lot like engine noises.

Maybe I missed it but can you make a thread with pics and sound clips? I'm really interested in getting some headers for my car soon

When my car is upside down like in your pic it makes a weird ticking noise. Flip it over and everything is fine

If you want to feel better about your lifters, just go listen to a Hemi.

Don't forget, the Direct injection is running at a very high psi at the injectors, so that might be the noise you hear!
