Headers..

Has anyone heard that if you install headers (uncatted) without a tune for a period of time that you will have engine problems... (8th cylinder going bad..)

I would say its not worth it to go headers/hfc's or whatever and not get a tune. Stock tune simply can't adjust for the changes in airflow etc. Possibly run the car way too rich/lean the list goes on.

Ya I'd imagine the car would start running without the correct air/fuel ratio and you'd probably burn up a cylinder.

No I don't expect not tuning the car would cause a cylinder failure at all. People do headers without retunes, but tunes and deleting that irritating light is best.

+1 You won't have a cylinder failure. Adding long tube headers will cause you to run rich not lean. Running rich won't hurt anything but you will smell the extra gas. It makes sense to get a tune but you can drive without it.

Well thanks for high jacking someone else's thread, buy the TSP's because they won't have ANY FITMENT issues and because they SPONSOR this site and chime in to repeat themselves over and over. Lol

Echo what others said. You'll get a check engine light and maybe a rough idle but other than that you should be good to go!
