I just got a call from someone representing "chevys warranty department" . Basically trying to sell me a warranty on the camaro I don't have anymore. I wasn't very cordial with my response, but I enjoy telling these kind of people to shove it where the sun don't shine. Does Chevy really have a warranty department that telemarkets?

Ha ha! I get these calls once a week along with their bogus mailings. It's not Chevy doing this. They get their info from DMV records.
Got one on my 2008 Corvette the other day. That cars been gone since 2009..They're just trolling for suckers..

GM does have official warranty mailings, or at least for Cadillac they do. I get official extended warranty deals for my SRX that is still under the original factory warranty for a few more months, it is on official GM/Cadillac mailings. Never received any phone calls though.

http://www.gmppdirectsmith.com/ This is "GM's" extended warranty. It's so legit in fact that as a technician I hate it.. Means I only get paid what GM warranty pays. But it's a really good warranty that I will probably put on my car if I decide to keep it after bumper to bumper.

not Camaro related. But on the subject of bogus calls. My two favorites recently are the ones claiming to be from Microsoft stating you have a virus on your computer and they want you to go to your computer or the one saying it's the IRS and something like they are going to file charges unless you call this number. I can't remember exactly how it goes, by the third or word I already know it's a scam. I do like it when it's an actual person instead of a recording. You actually get to tell them how you really feel lol.

And I DO tell them. I get pretty vulgar...and it's fun.

Lol...I like the Microsoft one. I had fun with one of those calls one time. I said oh, you want my credit card, sure hold on...I finally told him that I am an IT tech for 20 years, what do you think I am some moron! Lol, good stuff, never called again after that.
