I found this on another site.

It was in a doc dated Jan 09 V.5. Is this offical or did someone alter a real doc? I download the whole doc but it is to big to post all of it here.

Compression ratio: 11.3:1 10.7:1
Horsepower (hp/kW @
rpm):
304/227 @ 6400 rpm 426/318 @ 5900 (LS3)
400/298 @ 5900 (L99)

You're information is coming from the Jan 2009 Camaro Specifications document from Chevrolet. And yes, it's Version 5.

What's your question?

The hp says 426 at 5900 rpm for the LS3. I had seen 422 at 5000 rpm in the oct 08 specs. Just thought it was strange. I know the 426 hp beats the Challenger by 1 hp but not sure what Dodge is using for rpm.

Oh yup the 426 hp was confirmed a few weeks ago in the latest IDL (where the news was lost in the chaos resulting in the 1 month pushback on the start of production). Apparently SAE certification netted an additional 4 hp and I'm sure it had nothing to do with beating the SRT8...

Go back and look at the Oct 2008 V.4 and I think it lists the hp data at 5000 rpm instead of the new 5900 in the V.5 doc.
