The wiper blade from a dealership probably cost more than a set of discount tires from a tireshop....They should install for free

Just cynical and slightly exaggerated speculation... I did not receive an actual quote.

Oil changes are simple and easy. It is just too messy, at least when I used to do it.

Yes to all three questions, I'll do it myself...
Oil change at a dealership for me would be like: Can you scratch up a rim for me, how about a ding somewhere, lock my keys in the car and then do damage breaking into the car, I got a hour or so to kill at the dealership, can you put the correct amount of oil in, I'm sure that the bottom line person,(no offense, I've been one before), doing the oil changes knows the differences for all models of Chevy...

My shop charges me 0.5hr labour as I bring in my own oil (Driven LS30) and GM filter for the change. I do this at least 2 times a year.
Put a Cheerio in your drain pan and aim for that.

Don't they check other things while doing oil change and also lube? I'm talking oil change at dealership.

$40 ??? That is cheap for a full synthetic, from the dealer no less. If that is the case, I will be visiting my dealer soon.

Got lazy last weekend and had my local shop change the oil and filter for me, dispose of it properly etc. Paid $81.00 for the full synthetic service.

Can't go wrong for that.

It costs me more for the oil and filter.

$35 x2 + tax for Mobil 1.

$10 + tax for a Wix filter.

Sales tax up here is 13%
