Went last Friday again and my wife managed to hit 14.1 twice, last run we both screwed up, too much hurry up and wait.

I lowered the tire pressures on both cars and it didn't seem like it made a difference, but it could have been masking the track getting worse. They need to take a broom to the track since there was so many rocks on it.

DA was 2200+, so she ran a 13.7 @ 103. She wants the true timeslip though. I'm wondering if the BBK intake is hurting her car, on the Mustang V6 fast list nobody else uses a BBK except for her.

Also, weight for the cars:
2010 Camaro 1LT with Synergy Green Edition Package, full tank of gas, subwoofer box, and driver = 4065
2012 Mustang Premium Coupe with Pony Pack, full tank of gas and driver = 3730

The intake isnt hurting her. You guys 60's are way too high. Im not sure if it's a DA issue or traction, but she needs to be punching out consistent 2.0's and you need to be down at a 1.9 or 1.8.

Being that the DA is 2200, I can see the corrected times as being about normal, although at this point, I think your wife is as modded as I am. Corrected down I am about a 13.1 so there is something more to the story

Love my MPT tunes! I did find on Saturday that the STREET version was just as fast, maybe slightly faster than the RACE version... not sure why that would be... So for now, i'll just leave the STREET version in all the time...

The intake could certainly be hurting her... the metal tubing and MAF housing could have been heat soaked... also not sure how much hot air that intake will be taking in... so it is certainly possible... On the Flex I installed an intake that everyone else swore by... did some testing at the track as fairly as possible as i could... turned out the aftermarket intake SLOWED me down!

Best bet is to:

1) try testing stock vs the BBK at the track...
2) ICE down the BBK between runs!

On my vert, i only have the MPT tune, 3.55s and axle back... running a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS3 all seasons i consistently pulled a 2.1x 60' running a couple 13.58 @ 102 MPH and a bunch of 13.6s... This was basically just leaving off idle. DA was around 330'.

Her 60' times were 2.4 seconds, so she has improved. She says she can't give it full throttle for a while though or else she spins and start to get sideways. I know last time at the track when she revved her engine up at the line she started spinning her tires and she was below 2000 RPM's.

I'm not bringing my engine RPM's up high enough I think. I've been practicing launching on a "private" road and I can launch at 1500 RPM's and not spin too much so I'm going to try that next time.

She still has her Pirelli All-Seasons that came with the car. My BF Goodrich Sport Comp 2's hook up pretty well, I think my car is bogging down because I'm not aggressive enough.

I'm wondering if the BBK intake is sucking in the hot engine air from the bay, all other intakes use the snorkel, BBK doesn't.

So you are saying that she cant even brake stand to 1500rpm without the tires getting loose? Im having a hard time understanding because I can hold and launch at about 2000rpm with the auto transmission. SHe has all her nannies disabled?

She keeps the nannies on right now till we get new tires, with them off the car becomes a wild ride.

Next time at the track I will try to put the camera on my car looking at hers, might be able to show what is happening. I know the water box is unavoidable and trucks drive their mud tires straight through it.

Would be nice if we could get drag radials, but I want both of us to have them on at the same time.

I would love to do drag radials, but we have other stuff that need to be bought first. Mainly a storm shelter, last year's came too close.

I also saw your post about CFM's 10 second turbo Mustang 3.7. I think they did the same with a Procharger. Great guys at CFM, bought the Mustang drive shaft from them. I am curious if they will try to get into the 9's.

Safety is certainly paramount. But the advancetrac being on is destroying her time. It cuts power when it detects wheel spin. But, please continue to exercise caution. FYI, i had about 50 passes on the stock pirelli's and never had an issue with the advancetrac off.

With some practice she should be able to learn to walk the car out with the traction control off but you can leave the advance track on. I actually pulled a 2.0x 60' on Friday with all season tires. Rest of my runs were basically all 2.1x... I'm leaving basically just off idle and get minimal spin. ET's were 13.7 to 13.9 and i was doing some serious hot lapping (private rental... 23 passes... LOL)

Next time we go I will tell her to turn traction control off, let her take it easy the first few times so she can get used to it. Might be the end of May though when they have their Sunday TnT, that way we can get a good amount of runs in.

I went by myself Friday since my wife was too tired after working, she has been busy doing some harvesting of cancer cells and gene therapy stuff. She works in BioTechnology so I don't know, I deal with computers.

The 3rd run was against a 2013/2014 Mustang 5.0 with at least a tuner. Might be able to see how the track is with his run. My 60' time was awesome during that run, I should turn pro with it. I am car #829

The track officials were also pissed, they made an announcement that if you are running 13.99 or faster you will have a helmet, do not race and hope nobody notices. They also told people to stop dragging mud and rocks onto the track, a kid put mud all over one lane and they had to blow it off. I will have to buy both of us helmets now.
