Got a Call From My Dealer Today....
So I get a call from my Dealer this morning at 9 and they said that they have a Camaro coming and they dont know if its mine or not. I rushed our of bed, grabbed a camera and hauled ass to my dealership.
I get there around 1030 and i looked like a kid sitting on a front porch waiting for the icecream man, and suddenly I see a truck carrying 2 v6s and a few caddies drive past the Chevy dealership and head to the cadillac dealership. The GM of the Chevy dealership said they unload the cars at the Cadillac lot and I could head over there and ride with him to the chevy lot! Either cars wernt mine but I wasnt bummed out, due to the damage I saw on the vehicle. We head overthere and I start taking as much pics as possible, and the Truck guy turns to my dealer and says "We (the trucking company) didnt do this, its the railraods fault, I've delivered quite a few of these (Camaros) so far and 1 out of 3 have this problem." Take a look at the last 2 pics, look inside the red circles. See the chips? I'm assuming that when the rail road company is loading them into the freights, they are opening the doors and banging them on the rail cars, causing damage to the doors. PLEASE CHECK YOUR CARS!!!!! This is the FIRST place I'm looking when my car is delivered. I cant believe people can be so care less when loading something. So anyways the ride from the Cadillac lot to the Chevy lot is about 1/4 mile away. The head room is poor. My head was on the roof enough to cause some disconfort, but I'm sure I can put the seat back alittle to satisfy my needs. Some of the same pics we are used to, but some I thought peopel should see, like the fact that they have no place for sunglasses, and the sun visors (if you want to call them that). The seats are very confortable, but the room is like you aould expect from a Camaro, very tight. Also, I took a pic of my dealers badge to see if any other dealers use that back or some "sticker" type dealership ad, hope its easy to take off. Enjoy the pics guys! That dealer badge looks horrible on the rear of that car! Hopefully that's just for the v6 display models that are coming in.

But really now... the edges of the doors should be taped off during shipping, shouldn't they? Just like all 4 corners are in those pics. That would prevent chipping on the edge, and it would prevent the door's edge from chipping another car's paint that's parked right beside it. |

Yeah I'm telling me dealer they can keep there badge.
As for excuses for the chipping on the door, there isnt any. I guess the people who are loading our cars are jelous that they have to drive their 96 Kia home or just dont give a damn. The guy said 1 out of 3 cars had this damage. I know accidents CAN happen, but 1 out of 3 cars he has delivered had damage. No excuse what so ever. Thats like you getting a "Fragile Handle With Care" labeled package from UPS and its beat to hell, you call the place and they say: "I dont know what to tell ya, I guess the company you ordered it from should have packaged it better." And its not that fact that it can be "fixed". Its the fact that you are ordering a car from a company that could be going belly up and their company that ships items are damaging your goods..... |
