Decorative Strut Tower Brace Bolts

I'm look for some decorative strut tower brace bolts. I have some OEM painted ones from Lupe (overhaulengines) but the paint started flaking off after tightening them after I had to do some brake line work. I have seen some other posts with guys looking for these same type of bolts, but I never saw any answers.

I am looking for some suggestions on options to get a nice looking set of of M8 x 1.25 x 30mm bolts. Anyone changed theirs out? Got any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Black bolts?

I've been thinking about the same thing... found these on eBay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-METRIC-BO...404#vi-content

Check it out... if you think you might go for it, I'd split the cost with you for 6, since that's all either of us needs.

I already bought the ones in your link. They look OK, but they really aren't a very clean finish. If I find some new ones, I am happy to send mine to you.

I wouldn't call these decorative; but I used black cap screws when I painted the end caps black. I may go also go with black washers as well.

How about SS with Allen heads from Home Depot?

Have you thought about using something like Hot Toppers or Snap Caps?

I'm going to check out my local HD. I checked at Lowe's and they didn't have anything that fit.

Ohio Speed suggested these to me:

http://ohio-speed.com/p-2570-2010-20...s-6-black.aspx

They seem to be like Hot Toppers. I might try these out.

They don't have the size listed that I am looking for. I guess I could send them an email. They do have replacement bolts for the rest of the engine bay fender bolts.

I think I am going to try the bolt covers from Ohio Speed if I cannot find the bolts at Home Depot.

If you think you may decide to do other bolts as well you may want to use Hot Toppers or something similar as they come in many sizes , otherwise, the ones from Ohio Speed look like they will work as well.

Matt, I used APR 12 point stainless on my SS. I believe I am going to do the same when I paint the strut brace.

I went with socket head SS bolts, I got mine from Marshalls but HD and Lowes usually have them.
